As part of its ecological transition, our laboratory produces an annual carbon assessment to measure the environmental footprint of our research activities. This assessment is carried out using tools developed by the Labos 1point5 collective, which are specifically designed to calculate the carbon footprint and construct a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) assessment for French laboratories.
As part of its ecological transition, our laboratory produces an annual carbon assessment to measure the environmental footprint of our research activities. This assessment is carried out using tools developed by the Labos 1point5 collective, which are specifically designed to calculate the carbon footprint and construct a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) assessment for French laboratories.
To this end, our laboratory has established a ‘Transition’ Working Group (WG), currently composed of 5 individuals: Alexandra Martins (Team 1), Catherine Schramm (Team 3), Carine Cleren (T.URN Correspondent, Team 4), Nathalie Porchet (Administrator), and Hélène Castel (Team 5).

The first carbon assessment (for the year 2023) will be available in the 1st quarter of 2025.

Professor Claude Grison, Director of the ChimEco laboratory (bio-inspired chemistry and ecological innovations), received the European Inventor Award 2022. She developed methods to decontaminate soil and water using plants. Furthermore, the metals recovered serve as eco-catalysts for the synthesis of drugs or cosmetic products. This can also be performed using invasive exotic plants such as water primrose (Jussia d’eau).
